Early Registration opens May 1, 2021 for current or past Ravens Club players!

This is early registration for current or past Ravens Club athletes.
Each team needs at least one current or past Ravens player.

Registration for teams with no Ravens players begins May 6, 2021

Participant Information

Purpose: FUN and Skill Development

Format: 2 vs 2 sand and grass games (up to 3 players may be registered per team). Co-ed teams welcome.

Where: Sand & Grass Courts, south of Meridian Heights School, Stony Plain

Who: Maximum 12 teams per division. Divisions are based on the 2020-21 club season age groups (see below). Priority will be given to Ravens club team members and/or beach players from previous season. Coordinators reserve right to move teams between divisions to even out schedules. Players are prohibited from playing in multiple divisions for 2021 Beach Season.

  • Junior (Wed) U13, U14 (Sept 1, 2006 to Dec 31, 2008) or Grade 7 or 8
  • Intermediate (Tues) U15 (Sept 1, 2005 to Dec 31, 2006) or Grade 9
  • Senior (Thurs) U16+ (Sept 1, 2002 to Dec 31, 2005) or Grade 10, 11 or 12

When:  projected 6 weeks, from May 18th to June 24th (tentative - depending on Covid the season may go into July)

How much: $20 per player


Players must have their team member, team name and their VRS# identified prior to registration. Payment is required at the time of registration. When ready, click on the appropriate link for your age group.  Deadline for registration is May 12th.

IMPORTANT: You and your teammate each need to complete your own separate registration and pay the fee.

IMPORTANT: You and your teammate's Team Name must match.

To complete the registration you will need your VRS code; to renew the VRS code or obtain for the first time:

  • Complete the 2020/21 Volleyball Alberta/Canada registration process, pay your fee, and obtain your VRS code.
    • More information about their membership and fees can be found here.
    • The athlete can use the same VRS code from previous years or the recent Ravens Indoor Club season - but must pay the membership fee again this year if not already done in 2021.

COVID-19 Protocols (subject to Alberta Health and Volleyball Alberta guidelines)

All players and participants will be required to follow Alberta Health and Volleyball guidelines in place at that time and are subject to change. The onsite coordinator has the right to remove individuals who are not following guidance provided.

  • Maximum 12 teams (24 players) per division.
  • Participants must complete initial waivers and the daily screening.
  • Participants are encouraged to strictly follow all Public Health hygiene rules and general recommendations:
  • Wash or sanitize hands before, during and after each game.
  • Warmup with your own ball.
  • Avoid touching their faces, and cough or sneeze into their elbow.
  • Long hair is tied back to discourage participants touching their faces.
  • Each participant should bring and label their own water bottles, warm up volleyball, towels, and hand sanitizer.
  • Do not share equipment or personal items with other participants.
  • Avoid using change rooms, washrooms, meeting rooms, and water fountains.
  • Avoid cheering/singing, as these activities have a higher risk because infected people can transmit the virus through their saliva or respiratory droplets.
  • Unnecessary contact between participants, such as handshakes, high-fives, hugs, etc. should be discouraged, and whenever possible, all participants should maintain physical distancing of 2 meters.
  • Athletes may be required to wear masks during game play (to be confirmed prior to league play). Spectators and volunteers are required to wear masks when physical distancing of 2m cannot be observed.
  • Individuals over 65 years of age or with underlying health conditions are deemed to be higher risk. These people should not attend volleyball activities until they have medical clearance and approval to participate. Those who live with high-risk individuals should also seek medical consultation prior to their participation.
  • It is required that participants and spectators stay home if you are experiencing symptoms, are a close contact of someone with COVID-19 or traveled outside of Canada within the last 14 days.  See mandatory isolation requirements at https://www.alberta.ca/isolation.aspx
  • Participants who become symptomatic are required to be isolated from others and must return home immediately.
  • Respect 2m social distancing when not playing (players and spectators)
  • Arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your first game.  Leave the area after your final game.  There should be no gathering of groups before, between, and after games.
  • Game balls will be disinfected or replaced at frequent intervals, and at minimum should be done prior, once during and after each game.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available; however, players are encouraged to bring their own.
  • Rotate clockwise around (not under) net at change of point
  • If a ball enters your court, use your foot to kick it back.
  • Spectators are discouraged from attending.
